1st Annual This Is Memphis Festival Recap

Memphis, TN- On Saturday, November 22, 2014, Blue Tom Records held the first annual “This Is Memphis” music festival at the famous New Daisy Theatre. With the help of music business majors, volunteers, and various sponsors the show was a huge success, which packed the venue with over three hundred people. Blue Tom put together an amazingly diverse group of artists to perform at the event and that is what made the show so phenomenal. These talented musicians represented several different sounds, drawing crowds from various genres. In this aspect, “This Is Memphis”, was able to do just what the name of the festival represents, Memphis music culture. From folk, R&B, pop, bluegrass, and hip-hop the show blended together a musical mix of culture, something Memphis is respected for.

The evening was also very special because it was the last show held at the New Daisy before renovations. The New Daisy is known to host artists such as Justin Timberlake, Nirvana, Oasis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bob Dylan, and many more. It was an honor for Blue TOM to lead in this project! We are now planning for our 2nd Annual Rhythm ‘n’ Greens Festival, which will be held in April of 2015. We would like to thank everyone who came out and we hope to see you in April!10402697_1511345082450186_6555485043740303437_n
