New York native Lauren Moscato is a Memphis-made singer/songwriter, in every sense of the genre. Having a background of classical and jazz training, Moscato discovered from a young age how to adapt her vocal and songwriting abilities to a range of genres, from jazz, pop, soul, and classical.
Lauren’s emotionally charged lyrics reflect her experiences of living hard times, moving from state-to-state, and upbringing in a ministerial home. Being viewed in the fish bowl lens of a pastor’s daughter left Lauren wanting to stay out of the limelight, but her passion for music was, and still is, apparent and undeniable
She writes not only to draw these emotions out, but to share lessons learned that all will find relatable. The flexibility of her compositions draws her a likeness to other artists including Sara Bareilles, Fiona Apple, and Norah Jones.
On any given weekend, Moscato can be found belting out original ballads at local nightclubs or accompanying friends at local Memphis music venues..
As an award-winning artist and songwriter, Moscato was recently tapped by GRAMMY songwriting Hall of Fame honoree David Porter to take part in his Consortium MMT Emerging Stars program. Following the success, of her single, “He Gives Me Strength,” Lauren signed to Blue TOM records, currently grinding it out to release her first full-length, self-titled album in April 2016.
“For this young musician from Tennessee, her steps are already steadily following a path that will allow her to share her voice with the vast Pop and Contemporary Christian Music, or CCM, marke aliket.”
